Terms of Service
These are the rules of the road for using our site and ordering from us. We've kept them as short and plain as we could, while still covering what we have to cover. If anything here is unclear, write to us at hello@tastefully.studio and we'll explain it like a normal person.
By using our site or placing an order, you agree to what's in this document. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Who we are, in legal terms
These Terms are a contract between you and RILL Ltd, a company operating in the United States, doing business as Tastefully Studio. When we say "we" or "us" or "Tastefully Studio" below, we mean RILL Ltd.
What we offer
We take a photo of a handwritten recipe card and turn it into a framed (or unframed) print. You upload a picture of your card, we restore it and prepare it for printing, and a print partner produces and ships the finished piece to you. That is the entirety of what we do.
We may add new products, sizes, or framing options over time. The same Terms apply to anything new unless we say otherwise.
Using our site
You can browse our site, place an order, and contact us. We ask that you:
Don't try to break, hack, scrape, or overload our site
Don't attempt to misuse our service, including by uploading content you don't have the right to share
Don't impersonate someone else or place an order using someone else's payment information
If we have a good-faith reason to believe you're doing any of the above, we may cancel your order, refund you, and decline to serve you in the future.
The recipe cards you upload
This is the most important section, so please read it carefully.
You promise that the recipe card you upload belongs to you, was given to you, or is otherwise yours to use in this way. This is the heart of how this works. We trust you to know whether the card you're sending us is something you have the right to reproduce. Family recipes, cards passed down to you, things you've inherited, things you've bought in good faith — those are fine. Things scraped from the internet, copied from someone else's published cookbook, or otherwise belonging to someone who hasn't given you permission — those are not.
If someone makes a claim that an image you uploaded violates their rights, we may need to cancel or pause your order. We're a small business and we cannot get in the middle of disputes between people about who owns what.
You give us permission to do what we need to do with your image to fulfill your order. Specifically, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to copy, store, modify (for restoration and printing purposes), and transmit the image to our printing partner solely so we can produce and deliver your order. This license ends when we delete the image, which we do according to the schedule in our Privacy Policy.
We don't use your image for anything else. No marketing. No social media. No samples on our website. We do not train any system on your image. If we ever want to feature a card publicly (because it's especially beautiful, or because you've shared a story about it that we'd love to amplify), we ask you first, and "no" is always a complete answer.
You keep ownership. The image you upload remains yours. The license you give us is only to fulfill your order.
Orders, pricing, and payments
When you place an order, you make us an offer to buy. We accept that offer when we send you an order confirmation email. Until that confirmation goes out, no contract has been formed.
Prices on our site are in US dollars and include applicable taxes for US customers where required. Shipping costs are added at checkout. Prices may change over time, but the price you paid at the time you ordered is the price you paid.
Payment is processed by Stripe. By submitting payment information, you agree to Stripe's terms and confirm that the payment method belongs to you.
Order errors. If we list a wrong price by mistake, or your order can't be fulfilled for any other reason, we'll contact you, explain what's happened, and either correct the order with you or issue a full refund. We won't surprise you.
Shipping
We ship anywhere our print partner can deliver. Estimated delivery times are shown at checkout. These are estimates and
not guarantees.
Once a package leaves the print partner's facility, the delivery itself is in the hands of the shipping carrier, and we can't always control when it arrives. We track it from our end and will help you sort it out if anything goes wrong.
If a package is lost in transit or arrives damaged, write to us at hello@tastefully.studio within 14 days of the expected delivery date and we'll work with you on a replacement or refund.
Returns and refunds
Because every print is custom-made for your order, we don't accept returns for change of mind. We do offer replacements and refunds in specific circumstances, which are spelled out on our Returns page. In short:
Damaged in shipping: free replacement
Wrong product or quality issue on our end: free replacement or full refund, your choice
Changed your mind: not eligible, because the item is made specifically for you
Need to update your order before it ships: write to us as fast as you can and we'll do everything we can to help
For the full details, see tastefully.studio/returns.
Communication
By placing an order, you agree that we may email you about that order: confirmation, shipping updates, replacements, and the occasional follow-up if something needs your attention. These are transactional emails and you can't unsubscribe from them while your order is active.
Marketing emails are a separate opt-in. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time with the link at the bottom of every marketing email.
Our intellectual property
Our website design, logo, brand name "Tastefully Studio," product copy, and other original content on the site belong to RILL Ltd. You're welcome to share links to our site, screenshot it for personal reference, and obviously to receive and enjoy the printed product. Please don't reproduce our site design, logo, or written content for your own commercial use without asking us first.
Disclaimers
We do our best to describe our products accurately, show realistic mockups, and explain what you're buying. Computer screens and individual print runs vary, and so the physical print you receive may look very slightly different from what you saw on screen. This is normal for any print-on-demand product and is not a defect.
The site and the service are provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. We make no guarantees about results beyond the actual physical product we ship you.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, RILL Ltd and Tastefully Studio are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our site or our products. This includes lost profits, lost data, and damages from delays in shipping, even if we've been told about the possibility of those damages.
Our total liability to you, for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of our service, is limited to the amount you actually paid for the order at issue. This isn't us being unfriendly. It's the standard way small e-commerce businesses cap their exposure, and it's necessary for us to be able to operate.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Where the law gives you a non-waivable right, those rights are not affected by what's in this section.
Indemnification
If a third party (someone other than you and us) brings a claim against us because of something you did, including because of an image you uploaded that turns out to belong to someone else, you agree to defend us and to cover the costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees. This is to protect us from being held responsible for content we received from you in
good faith.
Termination
You can stop using our site at any time. We can also stop offering you our service if you violate these Terms, if you abuse our customer support, or if we have a good-faith reason to believe you're misusing the product. If we end our relationship with you while an active order is in progress, we'll either complete the order in good faith or refund you, depending on the situation.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [New York], without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally between us will be brought in the state or federal courts located in [New York], and you agree to that venue.
Before either of us files anything in court, we agree to try to resolve any dispute informally first. Email hello@tastefully.studio with a description of the issue and we'll work on it together. We mean this. Most things can be sorted out with a conversation.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the Effective Date at the top of this page. If the change is material, we'll also email you (if we have your address). Your continued use of our site after the change becomes effective means you accept the new Terms.
Severability
If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the Terms still applies. The unenforceable part will be modified to come as close to the original intent as the law allows.
The whole agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and our Returns page, are the entire agreement between you and RILL Ltd regarding your use of our site and our service. They replace any previous agreement we may have had.
