We don't fix the card. We just bring it into the light. Every stain, every crease, every margin note stays. The handwriting is still theirs.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is Tastefully Studio?

We turn handwritten family recipe cards into framed wall art. You upload a photo of the card, we restore it carefully, and we print it on museum-grade paper so it can hang on your kitchen wall. The handwriting stays. The stains stay. Every margin note and crossed-out ingredient stays exactly where it was.

How does it work?

Take a photo of the recipe card or upload one from your camera roll. Within seconds you'll see a restored version where the background is cleaned up and the handwriting is sharp, but every detail of the original is preserved. Choose your size and frame, and we print, frame, and ship it to your door.

Is this a good gift?

It might be the best gift you've given. Seeing a loved one's handwriting framed on a wall hits differently than a photo or a card. The way they crossed their t's, the little notes in the margins, all of it. We've seen people cry when they unwrap one. In a good way.

How do I get the best result from my photo?

Try to capture the card in flat, even lighting. Flatten out any curled edges where you can, and place the card against a slightly contrasting background. A clean, well-lit photo gives us the best starting point for your restoration.

What sizes and frame options do you offer?

Sizes range from 8x10" to 16x20". You can choose between an unframed fine art print, a rigid board mount (ready to hang, no frame needed), a classic framed print, or a framed print with a mat border. Frames come in eight colors: Black, White, Natural, Brown, Antique Gold, Antique Silver, Dark Grey, and Light Grey.

What's the difference between Print Only, Print + Mat, Framed, and Frame + Mat?

Print Only is the fine art print itself, ready for you to frame. Print + Mat is the print set into a thick window-mount board, ready to hang on its own or slide into a frame you already own. Framed comes in a solid wood frame with acrylic glazing, ready to hang straight out of the box. Frame + Mat adds the window mount inside the frame for a gallery-style border. If you already have a frame you love, choose Print + Mat. If you want it ready to hang with no extra steps, choose Framed.

How much does it cost?

Prints start at $39 for an 8x10 unframed print. Pricing scales up with size and frame style, and you'll see the exact price as you choose your options in the editor. Standard shipping is free on orders over $50.

What's the print quality like?

Print Only and Print + Mat use Hahnemühle German Etching, a 310gsm 100% cotton fine art paper with a subtle texture. Framed and Frame + Mat use Enhanced Metallic Art paper, chosen for its color depth and how it sits behind the acrylic glaze. Both are museum-grade, archival, and the same standards used by professional galleries. Every print is produced at 300 DPI.

What if my recipe card is faded, stained, or hard to read?

That's the best material we work with. Stains, fades, and tears tell the story of how often the recipe got made. Our restoration cleans up the background and sharpens the handwriting without erasing any of the wear. If a card is so faded that words are illegible, you'll see it in the preview before you order, so there are no surprises.

Can I see a preview before I buy?

Yes. After you upload your photo, you'll see a full preview of the finished print in your chosen frame and size before adding anything to your cart. You only pay if you love what you see.

What if my card recipe is written on two sides?

Unfortunately, we can't currently print the front and back of a recipe onto a single art print. If your recipe is written on both sides, we recommend ordering two prints, one for each side. They often look great hung as a pair.

How long does shipping take? Do you ship internationally?

Most orders ship within 3-5 business days from our print facility, and delivery typically takes another 5-10 business days after that. Standard shipping is free on orders over $50. We currently ship within the United States only. International shipping is something we're working on, and if you're outside the US and want to be notified when it's available, send a note to hello@tastefully.studio.

What happens to my photo after I upload it?

Your image is processed and stored securely so we can fulfill your order. We don't use your photos for marketing, sell them to anyone, or claim any rights to them. They're your family's cards and they stay yours. If you'd like your image deleted after your order is complete, just email us at hello@tastefully.studio.

What if I'm not happy, or my print arrives damaged?

We'll make it right. Because every print is custom-made we can't offer refunds for change of mind. But if something arrives damaged, or the restoration quality isn't what you expected, email us at orders@tastefully.studio with photos of the issue. We want you to love what's on your wall.
